Libby's Newest Cousin

Libby's newest cousin, Jordyn Jae Marlow, was born on January 24. She was 6lbs 1 oz. and 18 inches. Let me tell you, SHE IS TINY!! Here is picture of Libby (with the hat on) and Jordyn. They have the same nose and hair line for sure. I guess we will see if they look alike when Jordyn gets a little bigger. So far Jordyn has been a quiet, sleepy little girl. Hopefully that will continue when she gets home. Good luck Nick and JJ!!

Our big news

Since the word is (mostly) out I thought I had better put a little post on here. This Marlow family is moving to Omaha. Mike got offered a job with "Holiday Bright Lights", which is the company that he purchased all his Christmas product for Christmas Creations. Yes, his new job is year round. Mike already lives in Omaha with his Aunt Joyce. For those of you that don't know-Mike is originally from Omaha. His sister, nephew and a lot of his aunts, uncles, and cousins all live there. He is excited about being near all his friends from high school again.

Libby and I are staying in Sioux City until our house is sold. We are getting it ready to put on the market-hopefully in the next month. We are hoping to have our first open house the first weekend in March. I sure hope the weather is a little better than last year at that time! We are also in the process of selling our Christmas business.

We have been looking for a new place to live in Omaha. We can't really do anything except look right now since there are so many unknowns with our house. Call me a skeptic but I see too many things go wrong with closings everyday. Plus, the market is rather slow right now with it being winter, the weak economy, and the housing/mortgage crisis. Sioux City's market isn't as bad off as some parts of the country but it is still rather slow. Our house is pretty nice so I have mixed feelings about how quickly it will sell.

I will eventually look for a new job in Omaha. As soon as we get a little settled in Omaha (buying or renting), Libby and I are going to fly to Michigan for 3 or 4 weeks. After my nice long vacation I might try to look for a (hopefully) part time job IF we can find a daycare that I am comfortable with. I have no for sure plans right now. I am NOT excited about looking for a new job or daycare. I am very happy with both here in Sioux City so they are going to be a tough act to follow!!

HELLO??

Libby LOVES this squishy pillow. She lays on it all the time. I thought it was cute that she was laying on this pillow while "talking" on her phone. Libby has been quite the "singer" lately. She "sings"and "talks" all the time, especially in the car. She loves all her musical toys. We have been watching "American Idol" this week and Libby loves it!! She just watches and claps. Hopefully she will be a good singer when she gets a little older.

Also, tonight Libby pooped in the toilet again!!! So again I made a big deal about it and even let her flush since she has recently discovered flushing and toilet paper. At this rate she is going to be potty trained before she has any teeth....Just Kidding.....

Libby's First Birthday Party

Libby's First Birthday Party was a success. She was happy and festive-even without a nap. Libby enjoyed her birthday party much more than her first Christmas. She loves all of her new toys but continues to play with bowls, cups, and keys. I thought Libby would be walking by her first birthday but she still shows no interest. It "pains" her to try to walk, she would rather crawl everywhere. We might have to have another party when Libby finally walks and gets teeth.
